Apple officially revealed the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus, as well as the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max versions. Several speculations were confirmed including Apple’s decision to abandon the notch and adopt the ‘dynamic island’ design for all iPhone models. Here’s all closer look at the specifications.

The base of iPhone 15 models now incorporate the Dynamic Island, a notable improvement. The earlier iPhone 14 & 14 Plus had the notch design, which seems outdated when compared to the newly released iPhone 15 & 15 Plus.

All-new iPhone 15 models showcase the Dynamic Island as their front design. This fresh design element is sure to entice many to switch to the latest iPhone 15 or the iPhone 15 Plus, with the latter also boasting superior battery longevity. Both phones come equipped with Super Retina XDR screens using OLED technology

The iPhone 15 has a 6.1-inch display while the iPhone 15 Plus offers a larger 6.7-inch screen. They can achieve brightness levels of up to 2000 nits. Discussing performance, Apple has incorporated the A16 Bionic SOC from the previous iPhone 14 Pro into the new models. Similar to the older Pro version, both the iPhone 15 & iPhone 15 Plus support Wi-Fi 6. A significant update in these models is the Type-C port, a change long anticipated and mandated by EU regulations.

However, it’s worth mentioning that this Type-C port operates at USB 2.0 speeds, which seems to limit the device’s potential. The Pro versions, on the other hand, are equipped with a more advanced USB port.

Regarding the camera setup, the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus now boast an enhanced 48MP primary camera, complemented by a 12MP ultra-wide lens. This is a significant improvement! The devices offer Cinematic Mode at 4K 24FPS, and the quad-pixel sensor merges four pixels into one, enhancing image clarity.

Apple has also rolled out advanced Portrait Photos, allowing users to snap portrait shots using just the standard camera. Additionally, users can gather the necessary depth data to craft portrait images later within the Photos app.

The iPhone 15 features a second-generation UWB chip, runs on iOS 17, offers a full-day battery lifespan, satellite-based roadside help, among other features. Unfortunately, it lacks the new Action button, which is exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro versions.

Price & Availability

The Apple Watch Ultra to offer the most luxurious appearance on an iPhone while ensuring a sturdy yet lightweight frame. Additionally, they have a frame made of 100% recyclable aluminum, designed for enhanced heat dissipation.

For the first time on an iPhone, there’s the inclusion of the USB Type-C 3.0 port, which is up to 20 times faster than USB-C 2.0. As speculated, the new adaptable Action button is present, taking the place of the long-standing mute button. This new feature facilitates quick access to functions like the camera, flashlight, translation, and more.

The Dynamic Island is also present. The iPhone 15 Pro boasts a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR screen whereas the 15 Pro Max comes with a larger 6.7-inch display. Continuing the tradition from the past two years both phones offer a 120Hz refresh rate due to Pro Motion and have the Always-on-Display (AOD) feature. Additionally the screens are fortified with a Ceramic Shield layer for added safety.

Regarding the internal components new iPhone launch, the new A17 Pro Bionic chipset is introduced marking the debut of the Pro label for iPhone chips. This chipset a advanced 3nm process in the industry, comprises a 6-core CPU and a 6-core GPU delivering up to 10% enhanced CPU and 20% improved GPU speeds.

It is also supports hardware-accelerated ray tracing leading to better performance and graphics. The iPhone 15 Pro is available in four storage capacities. 128GB/256GB/512GB and 1TB. Meanwhile the 15 Pro Max offers three storage sizes 256GB/512GB and 1TB.

Pre-orders for these models kick off on September 15 with availability from September 22. The iPhone 15 Pro variants are offered in Black/Titanium/White/Titanium/Blue Titanium and Natural Titanium shades.
